What you can do to open and balance your Root Chakra?
1. take a walk outside
Go outside and get your feet on the ground. Take some deep breaths of the fresh, earthy air. This will help you feel grounded and connected to the Earth which brings you security, trust, and a life force energy. Simply taking a walk connects you to all the elements of nature. While walking, think about your scenery, think about how alive you feel, and think about what you are grateful for. This is a great way to start that connecting and trusting the Earth that holds your feet.
2. Eat healthy grounding foods
Eating for your Root Chakra is pretty much eating a big comfortable meal that your mom or grandma would make. You can really
think of thanksgiving when it comes to eating for your root chakra. Potatoes, beets, carrots, radishes, parsnips, onions, ginger, mushrooms, the list goes on. (Check out Foods for Chakras). Red vegetables and fruits are also a great source of root energy such as tomatoes, strawberries and apples.
3. Do some root yoga
A great way of feeling connected to the Earth and feeling alive with energy and blood flowing through your body is stretching, especially your back, legs, and feet. Your root energy can really become stagnant in these areas so if you are feeling tension or not, it’s always a great way to release that tension and get new positive energy flowing. I love using yoga to stretch because it focuses on the breath which is why yoga is so life changing. (Check out Root Chakra yoga) and try some basic poses to begin.
4. Set life goals
The Root Chakra is all about becoming who you are, becoming open to giving and receiving, and being apart of everything around you. Writing your life goals rather it be daily, monthly, or annually, helps you align yourself with what you want. When you follow through with your goals, it opens and balances your Root Chakra, giving you life force energy and making you feel very present, secured, and connected.
5. Root chakra Meditation
Meditating is a major key when opening and balancing all of your chakras. With the Root chakra, simply imagine a red, glowing, pure, cleansing light right in the area of your genitals and under the spine. This light burns all energies that do not serve you for your highest good. Meditation is a way you can practice how to use your imagination and I truly believe you can heal yourself with the power of your own mind. Take 15 minutes first thing in the morning and do a meditation. It's a beautiful release.
